As the owner and operator of The Scovel Management Group Don has estimated well over 50 projects ranging from small projects to large. Previously employed by a local general contractor for over 14 years as the Chief Estimator and previously a Project Manager. As a Chief Estimator I managed the Preconstruction Services for all of the negotiated projects ranging from Class A office buildings, Recreation Center swimming pool complexes, churches, all levels of educational facilities, Department of Correction projects, and industrial buildings. During the years that I spent as Chief Estimator I personally produced over one (1) billion dollars worth of estimating services. I have also provided estimating services for over 55 educational facilities with several school districts and colleges along the Front Range and Wyoming. I have also worked with the local and state government agencies on numerous projects within Colorado. Included in my range of experience is providing estimating services for renovation, remodel, and restoration projects.
During my tenure in the construction industry I have accumulated over 30 years of commercial construction industry combined management and field experience.
Objective:
As a cost consultant and construction manager, Don Scovel has provided the proven experience required for the project. Don, along with the staff of the Scovel Management Group, will focus on utilizing both his strong relationships with subcontractors and experience to provide accurate, detailed, and informative estimates. Combined with the input from the design team and owner Don will incorporate the project information and the owner’s programming with a quantitative take-off of the construction documents. This detailed cost survey of the project will enable the owner and architect to make appropriate valuable decisions regarding the design and budget.
As the project design progresses, we will explore the various building systems as they relate to cost. We will also provide value-engineering suggestions with current market pricing, ensuring that the Owner receives the best value for the construction dollar. The detailed estimate provided will be updated and revised to maintain an accurate account of the project’s design progression.
